As technology evolves at a rapid pace, so too does the games industry. Tech giants like Apple, Google, and even Microsoft are investing billions of dollars into making the newest technologies available to their users. Artificial intelligence is becoming more advanced every day, allowing computers to understand and respond to us in ways that they never have before. With this in mind, there’s no reason why our gaming experiences can’t be as immersive as possible either. In fact, it’s only a matter of time before we see truly cutting-edge games being released on a monthly basis. Here are some PC Games released in 2022 that you must check out:
Frontline
For more than a year now, the battle royale genre has been taking the gaming world by storm. But even though many developers have tried to replicate the success of “PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds”, “Fortnite’s” gameplay and popularity remain intact. The game is available for PC, Xbox One, and mobile devices. Players have continued to spend millions of hours playing the game, because of its simple yet addicting mechanics. This year, Epic Games also announced that they were taking “Fortnite’s” battle royale experience to mobile devices. With “Fortnite’s” battle royale mode expected to make its way to mobile devices, we could see even more people getting into the game. With such a large community, “Fortnite’s” growth is sure to continue into 2022. What better way to celebrate the new year than by playing the best game in the world?
ARK: Survival Evolved
ARK: Survival Evolved is the perfect game for anyone looking to get into the survival games genre. Set in a massive, prehistoric world, you must eat, sleep, and drink to survive against dinosaurs and other predators. The game is available on PC, Xbox One, and mobile devices. Winning ARK: Survival Evolved’s popularity is driven by its seamless gameplay, stunning visuals, and intuitive user interface. Players also get bonus points for being able to work with other players to complete various tasks. However, if you’re looking for a game that can challenge your survival skills, then this is it. With multiple difficulty levels and a wide variety of in-game challenges, you can expect to get your competitive juices flowing.
The Elder Scrolls 6: Blades
The blade is an upcoming title from Bethesda that’s set to bring players over 200 years into the future. You play as an elite peacekeeper who is sent on missions to protect the galaxy from dangerous, intergalactic threats. The game is available for iOS, Android, and Windows devices. Blades is an action RPG that’s set to deliver a truly unique experience. As a mobile title, Blades will also let Bethesda push the envelope when it comes to creating visually stunning worlds. But what truly makes Blades different is that it’s designed to be a social experience. With a persistent, collaborative story, Blades promises to let you and your friends adventure together.
Starfield
EA recently announced that the next installment in their Starfield franchise will be coming to PC in 2022. According to the publisher, it will be the “best Starfield yet”. Starfield is a science fiction open-world RPG in which you can explore a galaxy full of planets and spaceships. The game is expected to be announced at E3 in June, but EA has already released some details about what to expect from the game. First and foremost is the fact that it will be an online title with a persistent universe that EA says players will be able to “explore, trade, and interact with other players for years to come”. The game is expected to offer players a wide selection of customizable spaceships to choose from as well as a multiplayer RPG experience.
Fallout 76 (TBA)
While we don’t know too much about Fallout 76 just yet, we do know that it won’t be a Bethesda game. Fans of the Fallout series have been waiting for a new entry to hit PC for years, and the new entry coming in 2022 is expected to be the game they’ve been waiting for. However, we don’t know too much about it just yet. What we do know is that it won’t be a Bethesda game, and given the above-average quality of games released by other developers, we expect the game to be at least as good if not better than the others on this list. As for the setting, it’s widely believed that Fallout 76 will take place after the Great War, as the Fallout series has always been set in the past. It’s just a matter of when and where it will take place.
Battlefield 5
Battlefield 5 is an upcoming game that’s currently in development by EA and DICE. The game is set to be released in 2022 and will be a sequel to Battlefield 1. The game is expected to be set during World War II, as the last entry in the franchise was set during The Cold War. What’s interesting about the game is that it’s expected to be a first-person shooter with a significant focus on multiplayer. Given Battlefield’s popularity, we expect the game to be a hit, but it’s hard to gauge how good it’ll be considering the series has seen better days. We do know that Battlefield 5 is set to launch on PC.
Halo 6: Infinite Warfare 2 – Switch Edition?
Halo is one of the oldest franchises in the gaming industry, and despite being released on multiple platforms, we haven’t seen a new entry in the series since 2012. That all might change in 2022. According to Microsoft, work is currently underway to create a Halo 6. If the game is released as expected, it will mark the franchise’s return to the single-player campaign. Given the fact that Halo is one of the top-selling franchises in the world, we expect to see more than a few sales on the game. Microsoft has shown a lot of confidence in Halo 6, with the company saying that the game is “way bigger” than anything they’ve ever done before. We expect the game to be released on PC, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see the game released on Xbox One and PS4 as well.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake (TBA)
Square Enix is known for creating iconic and memorable stories that have resonated with gamers for years, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake will be no different. The game is expected to be released in 2022 and is set to be a remake of the classic game. The game is expected to offer gamers an updated take on the original Final Fantasy 7. What’s interesting about this remaster is that it’s not a remake of the original game. Instead, it’s a game that’s set to offer an updated experience. According to Square Enix, it’s supposed to be “a complete remake from the ground up with a modern twist”. Given the fact that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is expected to be released in 2022, it’s likely that the game will be released on PC, as well.
